Jannie’s Encore

by Davina on November 21, 2010

Encore

Back in my dressing room with my beige brassiere now joyfully flung and my wedgied undies adjusted, (was a mistake to have worn the thong) my ears were still ringing with the applause of another wild audience.

Could anything match being called for encore after encore, I wondered, as I slugged my chablis and reached for another caviar turmeric canape from the tray shaped like my Alpha Romeo Spider.

And I answered myself yet again. “Nope! This is one life sentence I can handle.”

* * * * * * * *

Thanks to the talented songwriter, Jannie Funster for playing with these nine words in only a way that she can.

Slugging chablis and snacking on turmeric canape? Not too shabby. Jannie Funster, you do things with style.

There’s a nice flavour here to these words. They sparkle with remnants of your own personal experience of having put on an energetic show.

You were in the zone… even if the thong was a little off, lol.

Maybe one day I’ll be in your audience :-)

Hi Davina and Jannie .. another great take on the nine words .. and so appropriate for Jannie, her lyrics and performances with her guitar .. I loved this story. The slugging chablis = yes! The tray shaped like an Alpha Romeo Spider .. filled with turmeric canapes … sound delicious!

Definitely one life sentence I could cope with .. I agree with you .. might change the wedgie thong though … fun – thanks so much .. Hilary

Good luck with the brassiere and thong…

I found a new brand of undies that do not wedge!

That out of the way– howdy!

Blue Bunny prepares all my dressing room feasts of course. And makes sure my chablis is always exactly 38 degrees and served in crystal.

Davina, the day you are in my audience will be a shining moment in my life. I can’t wait!!

Thanks for this fun idea.

xoxo

HA! Very clever and creative use of 9 words, Jannie. Nothing worse than undies that need to be adjusted! Applauding and calling for an encore from here. :-)

Davina November 21, 2010 at 11:20 am

Jeanne,
that would be a treat, I’m sure :)

Hilary,
I can *just* imagine that tray shaped like an Alpha Romeo Spider. :-)

Lance,
LOL, good one! :-D

Jannie,
What brand of undies would that be? Perhaps you’ll write a song…
Thanks for playing here with this creative challenge, Jannie. This has been a lot of fun. I can just imagine how much fun your performances are.

Lynn & Daisy,
Thanks for popping by to support Jannie. She’s a great gal. Talented and fun. :)

Bravo, Jannie, bravo!
Wow, as my dad would say, “That was slicker than snot on a greasy doorknob!” That’s farm talk meaning: That was great!!!

Next time I suggest loosing the thong and going commando — much more comfortable! LOL
Beautiful, Jannie, this was so creative.
Thanks, Davina, for allowing us to see the light beaming from your readers. Love it!

Only Jannie could fling a bra with such style around those 7 words! Very amusing, especially the spider visual…
Her descriptions seem to center on many senses- feeling free, adulation, tasting gourmet food, wine, n reflection. She even included a short dialogue… to herself.

Very clever, I think.

very funny! Though I must admit, the CaviarTumeric Canape didn’t sound yummy at all, I think I’ll pass on that.:)

Nice job, and Davina, the combination of words you come up with just cracks me up!

I love the way Jannie’s creative genius flows with skill. It always seems so effortless and has the essence of effervescence.

Davina, a lovely spotlight on Jannie. She does have a way with words, doesn’t she?

Jannie, delightful as always. Aren’t these challenges fun?

Barbara Swafford November 23, 2010 at 2:43 am

Hi Davina,

I’m jealous. Jannie makes the challenge look so easy. A talented gal she is. :)

Hi everyone! Thanks for all your comments. I’ll be back shortly to reply :-)

Davina November 23, 2010 at 4:13 pm

Okay, I’m back :)

LOL on going commando, Lori! :-)
Love your “light” analogy. Perfect!

SnaggleTooth,
I know, the spider visual is what gets me every time. For the past challenges, the focus has been on turmeric :)

Wendi,
Hehe… they are an interesting set, aren’t they?

JD,
The essence of effervescence. Hey, Jannie should do a perfume line! :) “Jannie” Has a nice ring to it.

Vered,
I agree.

Linda,
Jannie certainly does have a way with words. She makes it look easy… because she makes it fun.

Barbara,
I agree, this flows simply and expertly. Talent, yes. :-)

If I were in driving distance and not under six inches of snow, I’d be in that audience.

Bec November 23, 2010 at 11:16 pm

Love the slugged/chablis and flung/thong – nice resonance and as light and frothy as a spring wine. Likey muchly.

Hey, Sweeties! Forgive me for being a bit absent here!

You all are so sweet. And rock.

I’m a bit into the pre-Thanksgiving joy here today, but if Davina wouldst have me back to speak to all your comments, I WILL be back — tonight, as in Wednesday Nov 24th, 2010.

Brilliant. This had me chuckling like a hyena on antidepressants. :P

Jannie, you are all class, and so is Davina for having you here. :)

Chris Edgar November 24, 2010 at 6:57 pm

Caviar turmeric canapes — that sounds to me like a delicacy only Jannie’s refined palate could fully appreciate! I myself would take them better with anchovies perhaps.

Davina November 25, 2010 at 1:05 pm

Me, too Alice.
I can say that now because we’re getting dumped on today :)

Hi Rebecca.
Your comment has a nice ring to it. Care to comment using the 9 words? :-)

Jannie,
Happy Thanksgiving!

Tony,
Putting a hyena on antidepressants is sinful! LOL.

Chris,
I agree. Anchovies… blech! LOL. I used to love them in a Caesar salad, but seemed to have grown away from them.

Joy November 26, 2010 at 4:42 am

Davina and Jannie,
Fun..clever..and made me smile..*grin*
I would like to host Jannie’s concert at the marina so we could all experience sunshine together and I could mingle with the audience..hmm..course I have Jannie’s CD on board the boat..now to entice Jannie:)

Davina November 27, 2010 at 9:50 pm

Hi Joy.
An outdoor concert. That would be awesome… and by the marina, too. Oh, Jannie… are your ears ringing? :)

Liara Covert November 28, 2010 at 6:18 am

Thanks for inspiring everyone to awaken to the lyrics and harmony they have bursting to get out of the soul. We package who we are in different ways as part of the process of self-rediscovery. The joy shred here is music to the ears. Jannie sets a marvelous example. Just be. Do what feels right. Each of us creates our own harmony and joy in the external world. How we feel reflects whether we accept self fully or not.

You’ve made a cool typo that I’m sending to Jannie for her typo posts :-) “The joy shred here is music to the ears” LOL. Good one!

I agree, Jannie sets a great example!
